Chris van Wyk founder member of Amaqueta foods in catering has been involved in cooking from an early age on. For the past 32 years I have been working in the culinary industry locally and abroad. After completing my 4 years apprenticeship with Southern Suns with honors I ventured abroad to work in Germany for one year, and returned to the Fancourt Hotel in George where I stayed on for 6 years in a management capacity. During this time I was a member and captain of the South African national culinary team, and traveled abroad yearly to compete in international competitions, I also competed in many local competitions of which I won the prestigious bocuse d or in 2006.
I started Amaqueta foods and catering in 2001 and we have been supplying the industry with quality products ever since. I firmly believe that one should treat food as you would treat your wife, with respect. Our philosophy is to sell quality and consistency. We are a innovative team that does not stand back for any challenge or any organization. We specialize in outside catering par excellence and pride ourselves with it. We have been packing ready to eat products for the retail market for the last 16 years and run a SAFSIS approved facility.
